Online poker - American disaster

Recently 10 more poker and general gambling websites were closed after FBI has arrested the domains - Bookmaker.com, 2Betsdi.com, Funtimebingo.com, Goldenarchcasino.com, Truepoker.com, Betmaker.com, Betgrandesports.com, Betehorse.com, Beted.com, and Doylesroom.com

The business in US is getting down as well as poker affiliates revenues, especially those which were targeting to US market primarily as it is the biggest market. The regulations of local gambling markets hits the online poker venues in EU countries as well. For example in Lithuania you cannot advertise any gambling company which does not have a licence locally. Getting a license is an expensive and long procedure, so having such a small market is definitely not worthy moving a finger.
When US market is closed the entire gambling busines is in jeopardy and there is no clearness in the future.

Hopefully this situation did not happen in real life, however "darling, let's go to work! - No, I just got into final table!" situations are quite frequent.

What is Online Poker? The answers are in Wikipedia:

Traditional (or "brick and mortar", B&M, live) venues for playing poker, such as casinos and poker rooms, may be intimidating for novice players and are often located in geographically disparate locations. Also, brick and mortar casinos are reluctant to promote poker because it is difficult for them to profit from it. Though the rake, or time charge, of traditional casinos is often high, the opportunity costs of running a poker room are even higher. Brick and mortar casinos often make much more money by removing poker rooms and adding more slot machines.

Online venues, by contrast, are dramatically cheaper because they have much smaller overhead costs. For example, adding another table does not take up valuable space like it would for a brick and mortar casino. Online poker rooms also allow the players to play for low stakes (as low as 2ยข) and often offer poker freeroll tournaments (where there is no entry fee), attracting beginners.

Poker

Poker is my personal interest and hobby. I do not play it. I investigate the market of poker, which is becoming bigger an bigger.

I have strong morals regarding the gambling per se. The person cannot loose more than he has. if he manages to play with borrowed money, he will go bankrupt. Only strong personalities should be allowed to play in high stakes poker. Small stakes remains for fun with no chance of loosing big.

Some people are poker pros - high level professional players who know how NOT to loose in a long term. Amateurs cannot manage their win-loose balance, but professionals can.

I will share more thoughts about poker in nearest future. Also i will be sharing some poker related resources for beginners, as advanced players know everything already and can find everything they want in numerous communities, social networks or Google.
